Description
Perinatal yoga is aimed at physically preparing the body for childbirth and maintaining emotional balance. Perinatal yoga classes are usually held at a slow pace, with an emphasis on safety and comfort for the pregnant woman.
What to expect:
1. Exercise: Exercise is usually designed to maintain flexibility and strengthen muscles. Classes include gentle asanas (poses) that target the back, pelvis and hips. They help reduce tension in the body, maintain healthy muscle tone and prepare the body for natural changes.
2. Breathing techniques (pranayama): Much attention is paid to breathing. You will learn to control your breathing, which can help reduce stress and make the birthing process easier.
3. Relaxation: Classes often end with deep relaxation, meditation, or visualization techniques that help maintain calmness, increase inner focus, and reduce anxiety.
4. Adaptation to changes in the body: exercises will be offered that take into account the physiological changes at each stage of pregnancy. The exercises are adapted depending on your deadline and physical condition.
5. Strengthening the connection with the baby: Classes can include elements that contribute to the development of an emotional connection with the future child, through meditation or focusing on the movements of the baby.
6. Support: You will be in a group with other pregnant women, which gives you the opportunity to share experiences and support each other. After the class, you will be able to drink a cup of tea with treats for discussion
