DESCRIPTION: Yin yoga (rooted in classical Hatha Yoga) is the passive balanced practice from the dynamic muscular (Yang) classes such as fitness classes, Vinyasa, Pilates, Barre and Hatha Strength. It is also slower and more intentional than stretch classes (also Yang)  given after a workout. Yin is best practiced when the body is cool. 
Yin yoga dives deeper than superficial or muscular tissue; it dives into the connective tissues, ligaments, bones and encasing fascia to lubricate and heal micro tissue and deep joint stress and stiffness at the connective sites. 
Poses are typically held between 3 to 6 minutes.
Yin yoga can improve range of motion, flexibility, release accumulated stress from the body and mind, increase circulation around bones, and heal tissue. It also brings awareness to the breath.

Class is suitable for everyone, props are used in class. You are welcome to bring any personal props as well.
