The Active Series is a modified version of the traditional Ashtanga yoga developed by Sharath Jois and officially launched in late 2024. The idea for this series dates back to few years back, however, after the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharath Jois showed a renewed interest in offering an alternative practice to help individuals integrate a more approachable form of yoga into their lives.
This series simplifies the complexity of traditional Ashtanga sequences and is designed to support mental well-being by reducing stress and improving focus. Sharath Jois emphasized that the heart of the practice is about moving the body, breathing, and staying active—rather than striving for perfection in poses.
