DESCRIPTION: Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation and meditation technique that originated in India thousands of years ago. It is also known as “conscious sleep” or “yogi sleep” because it is performed in a state of consciousness similar to sleep, but with the mind awake and alert. 

During a Yoga Nidra session, you usually lie in a comfortable position, such as savasana. The practitioner is then guided through a series of visualizations and affirmations to relax the body and mind. The objective is to witness a state of calm and meditative consciousness, where you can obtain greater mental clarity, reduce stress and improve the quality of sleep. 

This tool has also been used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.
