Yin + Sound Healing
Tuesday, March 28 • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Nicole is a yoga and meditation teacher, sound healing facilitator, and change maker passionate about using the 8 Limbs of Yoga, sound healing, and various other life-enhancing tools to help people rise to their full potential. When this happens, she believes that all living things, including this planet, will benefit. Music and movement have been Nicole’s passions for as far back as she can remember. Growing up in San Francisco as a dancer, gymnast, and musician she spent her free time creating choreography, and playlists and playing keyboard, organ, flute, and saxophone. She eventually took on the band assistant role in school and performed warm-up duties, along with teaching newer students how to read music and play instruments in private sessions. After 12 years of practicing yoga, she was called to participate in her first teacher training and completed 200hrs in vinyasa flow with Body, Mind, Life in Sydney, Australia, and 300hrs with Zuna Yoga in tantric hatha, meditation, restorative, and standup paddleboard yoga in Bali, Indonesia. It was in these countries, that she began to explore the soul-nourishing aspects of kirtans, and sound baths and often practiced with teachers playing live music during classes. This is when she realized she could combine her passions of yoga and music with the intention to help people regulate their nervous systems and experience deep cellular relaxation, which she has found extremely beneficial in her own healing journey. She now teaches primarily yin yoga, sound healing, and meditation classes, and hosts public and private sound baths, events, and retreats with other musicians, healers, and organizations that are on a mission to make this world a better place. Her goal… that you feel better and learn how this practice can enhance your life on and off the mat. Learn more: www.nicoleturneryoga.com.
Various sound healing instruments will be incorporated to assist in sensory withdrawal and concentration and take the nervous system into rest and digest. This class will end with either an active or passive form of meditation. Active forms or engagement of one or more of the 5 senses, are a great way to prepare for passive meditation or deactivation of the 5 senses, stillness and silence.
