Marie Knight
Marie has been an avid yogi for many years and took advantage of the quarantine period of the pandemic to complete her yoga teacher training. This time of reflection deepened her understanding of yoga and how trauma impacts all of our lives. She finds trauma informed yoga practices to be a more supportive practice as we never know what a participant has experienced in their lifetime.
Through her teachings Marie aims to guide others towards greater embodiment, vitality, and enjoyment of life with her lighthearted, playful style. She incorporates amazing music playlists and her love of Billy Joel (if you’ve been to a Yin class you’ll know what we mean!) in all of her class offerings.
Certifications include:
200 hour RYT, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, PreNatal Yoga
Description
In this class we'll practice "Yin" poses. In Yin we hold postures for longer periods of time, typically 2-4 minutes. This allows your body to move deeper into the pose and receive increased physical and mental benefits from the posture. Classes will end with one or two Restorative poses, where postures are more supported and held for up to 10 minutes. Some classes will include guided meditations as well - making this class as beneficial for your mind as it is for your body!

Description
What we do best!! This is our signature class ~ we are big advocates for restorative practice here at DustOff. This divine practice is perfect for everyone and we believe is the key to helping us all discover more physical, mental and emotional freedom. Life can be chaotic! Sometimes you’ve got to slow everything way down…. When your life is racing full speed ahead, so is your mind. Restorative yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent stress and anxiety. This mellow, slow moving practice uses a variety of props to fully support you. The longer holds give your body a chance to experience deeper relaxation. This is about allowing yourself to unfurl, unwind & untangle. The goal of this practice is to break through internal barriers, releasing the untapped energy residing within you and bring you higher self-awareness and ease. This practice may incorporate binaural sound therapeutics with guided meditation throughout the practice and with extra special touches like aromatherapy and heated or cooling eye pillows. You will leave feeling profound ease.
This amazing practice is effective for stress management, anxiety, chronic pain, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia and symptoms related to chronic illness or cancer…It’s also great for self-care. Come get comfortable & feel the benefits!
60 min class All levels *Note* As the nervous system relaxes and the heart rate slows the body temperature lowers and you may need additional layers to maintain comfort. Please dress comfortably and bring/wear socks for this practice

Description
What if I told you that yoga is NOT about fancy poses? That yoga is actually about how you live your life, how you connect and how you respond to life off the mat. True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Join us as we learn about living well as we explore together the Atlas of the Heart by Berne Brown. In this workshop we’ll explore the geography of emotions, and how the language we use shapes not just how we communicate to others but also how we experience them ourselves. Together we will journey through 87 emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human. We’ll explore the necessary skills and actionable framework for meaningful conversation while developing the language and tools to access new choices and second chances~as we build deeper connections to ourselves and others.
We’ll share pot luck brunch style, explore the book together (with guidance), interact and create meaningful discussion and deepen our understanding of human emotions and how to regulate them, while building a supportive community and boosting health~physically, mentally and emotionally.
Saturdays starting April 9th ~ May 14th. 10:30am-12:30pm
Cost: Donation inspired. Tea cart refreshments are always available.
Bring: your tea cup, nibbles to share & your curiosity
***Please purchase your book prior to class and read the first two chapters ~we will be jumping right in on day one!!**
