Iyengar yoga focuses on proper alignment and precise technique and I hope to help students get the benefits of strength, concentration and body awareness.
Description
This class will run weekly on WEDNESDAYS from 10.30-11.30am. Book for the 5 week block starting from 1st April to receive a discount.
This class is suitable for those new to yoga of any kind or those with less than 2 years experience.
Iyengar yoga helps you focus on correct alignment of the body, ensuring you’re working safely and with maximum benefit to your flexibility, strength and wellbeing. Classes generally progress from simple towards more advanced poses, ending with relaxation and sometimes incorporating breathing techniques.
Props, such as blocks and belts, are sometimes used in class to allow those with less strength or flexibility to work correctly and achieve their full potential. All this will be provided by the studio, you don't need to bring anything with you.
All teachers of Iyengar yoga are trained to very high standards for at least 6 years, and are fully insured.
Be sure to tell Michael if there is anything they should know about such as a bad back, stiff shoulders, sore knees etc. All poses can be modified for these conditions and may well help relieve them.
