Charles Riley
Tai chi Instructor
Description
Tai Chi is a meditative exercise that integrates slow, gentle, mindful movements with the breath to achieve a healthy mind and body. Tai Chi exercises reduce stress while improving breathing, flexibility, mobility, balance, strength, circulation, posture, concentration, memory, and mental outlook. The Mayo Clinic has done studies on this, and they use Tai Chi as physical therapy.

Tai Chi was originally developed by Taoist monks to stay healthy. The exercises grew from traditional meditation and health exercises including martial arts. The instructor has background in the meditation and health exercises as well as the martial arts.

The instructor, Charles Riley, studied with Master Da Liu in the 80’s in New York City. Master Liu was in his 80’s, but he was like a young man and much faster and more agile and flexible than his younger students. Sifu (Teacher) Riley has been practicing and teaching since. He enjoys the privilege to share the meditative exercises to improve mental and physical health.
