The Gyrokinesis Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus. The Gyrokinesis method acts on the whole organism. The internal organs are involved and stimulated through fluid movements of arching, flexing and twisting.

Each class begins on chair with gentle movement to open up the senses and fluid spinal motions to prepare the body to explore more complex movements with agility, and ease. We attempt to gain “soft focus” with the eyes to take in all our surroundings and soak in nutrients from the environment.

Gyrokinesis is adaptable to everyone’s fitness ability and can be practiced by everyone from professional dancers, athletes, senior citizens, pregnant women, college students and people with injuries or disabilities. It is practiced on a mat and chair. Participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more aware of their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.

Regular practice also builds core strength, balance and agility.
