Level 2
Voor studenten met minimaal 6 maanden ervaring in Level 1-houdingen, inclusief Salamba Sarvangasana (schouderstand). Verfijn de basis en leer Sirsasana (kopstand), handstand, achteroverbuigingen en begin met pranayama (ademhalingsoefeningen).

For students with at least 6 months experience in Level 1 postures, including Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand). Refine the basics and learn Sirsasana (headstand), handstand, backbends and begin pranayama (breathing practice).

Doorlopende beginnersles: laagdrempelige kennismaking met yoga
Als je op een laagdrempelige manier kennis wilt maken met yoga in een groep waarin iedereen beginner is, is onze Beginnersles is een perfecte manier om te beginnen. In deze doorlopende les leer je de meest voorkomende houdingen en hoe je deze kunt aanpassen aan jouw behoeftes. Je kunt hier gemakkelijk starten, en je kunt ook één lesje uitproberen, no strings attached.

Restorative

Voor iedereen. Tijdens de restorative yogalessen ontspan en herstel je in ondersteunde houdingen. Daardoor komt je zenuwstelsel tot rust. Je bestudeert je adem en de invloed ervan op je lichaam en bewustzijn.

For everybody. During the restorative yoga classes you relax and recover in supported postures. This calms your nervous system. You study your breath and its influence on your body and consciousness.

All Levels

Voor studenten die net met yoga starten of nog niet eerder Iyengar yoga hebben gedaan. Maar ook goed als je al jaren bezig bent. Bouw kracht op in staande houdingen, leer Salamba Sarvangasana (schouderstand) en andere basishoudingen.

For students who are just starting out with yoga or haven’t done Iyengar yoga before. But also great if you’ve been doing yoga for years. Build up your strength in standing poses, learn Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) and other fundamental postures.

Yogales aangepast aan jouw behoefte

Heb jij rug-, knie, schouder- of nekklachten? Ben je aan het herstellen van ziekte of blessures? Heb je een chronische aandoening waardoor je wat meer hulp nodig hebt om de yogahoudingen aan te passen? Zijn er specifieke gebieden in je lichaam die meer aandacht nodig hebben omdat ze zwak of juist stijf zijn? Of heb je vragen over hoe je jouw yogapractice kunt aanpassen aan je eigen situatie? Dan zijn onze Special Needs-lessen (semi-privélessen) iets voor jou! Je krijgt oefeningen die speciaal op jouw vragen of klachten toegespitst zijn.

We zien in de Special Needs lessen mensen die een blessure hebben en willen weten hoe ze yoga kunnen doen en de blessure niet verergeren – of deze zelfs helpen genezen. Maar ook mensen met bijvoorbeeld reuma, MS, Parkinsons of zelfs een dwarsleasie, die in de lessen op een aangepaste manier yoga kunnen doen in een veilige en ondersteunende omgeving. Sommigen doen een tijdje Special Needs lessen om te leren hoe ze mee kunnen doen in de andere lessen. Anderen blijven in de Special Needs les aan hun eigen programma werken. Alle deelnemers werken op hun eigen niveau.

Onze yogaschool is toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers.

Yoga class adapted to your needs

Do you have back, knee, shoulder or neck problems? Are you recovering from illness or injury? Do you require a little more help to adjust the yoga postures because of a chronic condition? Do you have specific areas in your body that need more attention because they are weak or stiff? Or do you have questions about how you can adapt your yoga practice to your own situation? Then our Special Needs classes (semi-private classes) are for you! You will practice sequences that are specifically tailored to your questions or complaints

We see students in the Special Needs classes who have an injury and want to know how to do yoga and not aggravate the injury – or even help to heal it. And also students with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, MS, Parkinsons or even paraplegics who can do yoga in an apadapted way in a safe and supportive environment in these classes. Some take Special Needs classes for a while to learn how to take care of their needs in the other classes. Others continue to work on their own program in the Special Needs class. All participants work at their own level.

In de back care lessen brengen we de aandacht naar twee belangrijke gebieden in ons lichaam: De ene keer ligt de focus op bovenrug, schouders en nek en de andere keer op de onderrug, bekken en heupen. Twee gebieden die je kan zien als de knooppunten van je lichaam waar veel hoofdaders, zenuwbanen, spieren en pezen doorheen lopen en van waaruit we het onder- en bovenlichaam bewegen. Gebieden waar we ongemerkt makkelijk spanning en emoties vasthouden, verslappen of juist verharden als we moe zijn en gaan compenseren in andere gebieden, waardoor er een disbalans ontstaat. Deze les is een combinatie van ontspanning en aanspanning. Bewust worden van onnodige (aan)spanningen, loslaten en ruimte maken om zo de juiste spieren aan te spannen en sterker te maken.

Deze les is voor iedereen! Mocht je een blessure of aandoening hebben, dan adviseren we om voorafgaande aan de les een email te sturen of 10 minuten voor de les aanwezig te zijn, zodat er tijd is om dit te delen met de docent.

In the back care classes we focus on two important areas in our body: One time the focus is on the upper back, shoulders and neck and the other time on the lower back, pelvis and hips. Two areas that you can see as the nodes of your body through which many main veins, nerves, muscles and tendons run and from which we move the lower and upper body. Areas where we easily retain tension and emotions without noticing, where we slack or harden when we are tired and start to compensate in other areas, causing an imbalance. This class is a combination of relaxation and movement with effort. Becoming aware of unnecessary tensions, letting go and making space to tighten and strengthen the right muscles.

This class is for everybody! If you have an injury or pre-existing condition, we advise you to send an email before class, or to be there 10 minutes before the class, so that you have time to share this with the teacher.

Ook de Back Care lessen kun je thuis meedoen! Het is wel handig om voldoende yogaprops bij de hand te hebben (of verzamel een stapel kussens, dekens, badhanddoeken, stoelen, tafels en riemen om je heen...)

You can also participate in the Back Care lessons at home! It is useful to have plenty of yoga props on hand (or gather a pile of pillows, blankets, bath towels, chairs, tables and belts around you...)

Level 3

Voor studenten die meer dan een jaar yoga doen, de staande houdingen en Sirsasana (kopstand) en Urdva Dhanurasana (de brug) kunnen doen, of weten hoe ze die moeten aanpassen. Je verdiept de basishoudingen, en leert meer uitdagende houdingen & pranayama's.

For students who have been doing yoga for over a year, can do the standing poses and Sirsasana (headstand) and Urdva Dhanurasana (the bridge) with confidence, or know how to adapt them to their needs. You will deepen the basics, and learn more challenging asanas and prayanamas.

In this level 3 class, we expect you to be familiar with Iyengar yoga for at least one year, and be able to safely do headstand and shoulderstand (Sirsasana and Sarvangasana) or alternatives when appropriate. We will do some more work with inversions, backbends and other more advanced poses so we expect you to have a good set of props or knowledge of how to use your furniture.
