Restore, heal, and calm the mind, body, and soul while encouraging the letting go of physical and emotional stress. Opposite to dynamic styles of yoga where we find strength in contracting our muscles, we find instead a passive stretch focused on relaxing the muscles. In this way we are able to reach the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues - ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks. To strengthen and stretch these target areas we hold the poses for anywhere between 2- 5 minutes utilizing directional breathing techniques. This provides deep relaxation, internal bodily awareness, the ability to recognize and respect our boundaries, and stimulates meridians and organs. Many modifications are provided along with cushions, blankets, and blocks to adjust the practice to exactly what your body needs for easy relaxation.
