I fell in love with yoga in my twenties whilst studying English Literature at university. At the same time, I started to attend Buddhist classes and learned how to meditate.
My love of yoga led me to complete Teacher Training with the wonderful Ian Davis of OrangeYoga. This has been a life changing experience: yoga has taught me how to breathe, has created strength and flexibility in my body and in my mind, and helped me be kinder to myself and others, on and off the mat.
I love teaching and I love learning. As well as being a yoga teacher, I also teach English at a secondary school in Coventry. One of the joys of teaching is being able to connect with people and to create a supportive space for learning and playful exploration. Inspired by Vinyasa, Somatics and Viniyoga - I train weekly with Dave Charlton of Living Yoga - I like to create classes that challenge as well as support students to be kind to themselves. Alongside mindful movement, I incorporate pranayama (breathing) practices and meditation.
I feel so grateful to be able to practise yoga and I can’t wait to share the practice of yoga with you.

Where? Jubilee Hall, Blockley
What? Mastering variations of Warrior postures to make your practice safe, sustainable and pleasurable

By attending this workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn in more depth and bring this learning back into your weekly practice. We will have time to break down warrior poses, work in pairs, give and receive feedback, ask questions, observe demonstrations and most importantly have fun playing with the poses. With your permission, I will give sensitive hands-on assists to guide re-patterning; the aim of which is to create integration, ease and space within body and mind. You will also receive a handout to assist your learning and home practice.
In this workshop we will be exploring the difference between Warrior II open hip postures and Warrior I closed hip postures.
What will you learn?
- How to let the breath move you into each posture (the focus is on moving from the inside out- not getting caught up with how it looks but concentrating on how it feels)
- How to use the expansive shape of Warrior II (open hips) to connect to Triangle posture, Extended Side Angle, Humble Warrior and Half Moon.
Spotlight on key postures of Warrior II, Extended Side Angle and Half Moon. Opportunities for assists, questions, feedback.
- How to use the length and strength of Warrior I/ High Lunge (closed hips) to connect to Pyramid Pose, Runner’s Balance, and Warrior III.
- Spotlight on key postures of Warrior I and Pyramid (in flow sequence), and Warrior III. Opportunities for assists, questions, feedback.
Spaces are limited to allow for quality of learning experience.
