Description

Hybrid Yoga incorporates a combination of chair & floor practice, along with mindful awareness, for a well-rounded, balanced practice of renewed discovery & re-patterning of compensatory habits. Students are never weight bearing on wrists or knees in this class, and we explore accessing poses more efficiently & safely through the support of a chair. Students will need to be able to move from floor to standing (& vice versa) with relative ease.

Please bring the following items if you have them:
yoga mat
folded blanket or thick towel
strap, belt or resistance band
yoga block

Mindful Yoga blends the wisdom of Alignment Yoga with qualities of mindful awareness to guide students in the discovery of renewed connection and gentle release of tension patterns. Students develop strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind through this timeless practice. For all levels, including those brand new to yoga. Poses are taught in progressions so you can explore from a place that feels right for you.

Please bring the following items if you have them:
yoga mat
folded blanket or thick towel
strap, belt or resistance band
yoga block

Starting June 1st class will be held outdoors*. Be sure to bring water with you!

You might also consider bringing something to lay underneath your mat (blanket, tablecloth or beach towel), sunscreen, bug spray, hat or sunglasses, etc.
*Rain location: Indoors at Maitri Center for Mindful Living

Exciting opportunity for children entering grades 1-6 to explore mindfulness through Japanese contemplative arts such as haiku and ikebana, as well as mindful movement, loving-kindness, and pebble meditation as taught by Vietnamese meditation master, Thich Nhat Hanh.

Each week a different theme and creative process will be explored! Option to attend individual dates or the full series! Fee includes all materials for weekly craft projects.
