Description

Hybrid Yoga incorporates a combination of chair & floor practice, along with mindful awareness, for a well-rounded, balanced practice of renewed discovery & re-patterning of compensatory habits. Students are never weight bearing on wrists or knees in this class, and we explore accessing poses more efficiently & safely through the support of a chair. Students will need to be able to move from floor to standing (& vice versa) with relative ease.

Please bring your own yoga mat. All other props will be provided unless you wish to bring your own from home.

Mindful Yoga blends the wisdom of Alignment Yoga with qualities of mindful awareness to guide students in the discovery of renewed connection and gentle release of tension patterns. Students develop strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind through this timeless practice.

For all levels, including those brand new to yoga. Poses are taught in progressions so you can explore from a place that feels right for you.

Please bring your own yoga mat and a folded blanket or thick towel. Blocks and straps will be provided OR you are welcome to bring your own.

Maitri Center is proud to partner with the Oregon Area Senior Center to offer discounted gentle yoga and stretching for older adults. These are IN PERSON classes with limited enrollment. Participants who are able to move up and down off the floor with relative ease will benefit the most. Each session reflects a senior discount rate. No credits or refunds for missed classes. Drop ins permitted as space allows. Please bring:
--your own yoga mat
--folded blanket or thick towel
--strap, belt, or resistance band
--one yoga block (optional but recommended)
