Balancing stress hormones & repairing stress damage

I am very excited to launch the next 6 part series of Kundalini Yoga, breathwork and meditation to balance the stress hormones and repair the stress damage to our physical body and nervous system.
Stress occurs when we can’t cope with the demands placed on us by the external world, relationships, work, or simply by ourselves, we tend to put lots of pressure on ourselves to be the best at everything we do
Stress is not always caused by negative events, less obvious stressors include not sleeping enough, skipping meals, working long hours, over exercising and taking care of everyone else except yourself. Even positive events such as getting married, landing your dream job or moving can be stressors.
Sometimes we aware we are stressed & notice the physical symptoms ( stomach aches, headaches or racing heart ) & the emotional effects ( irritability , fatigue or cravings for sweet or salty food). But many of us are so used to living with stress than we don’t even notice it, we can even thrive in it. When we had a stressful upbringing, we normalise stress since it becomes part of our identity
However all the stressors have a negative impact on the body, nervous system and hormonal flow.
When our stress response is stuck in the ON position we are constantly pumping Cortisol and/or other stress hormones like Adrenaline and Testosterone into our blood.
Cortisol is the main stress hormone which increases the blood sugar levels, body fat, gives rise to anxiety, depression and mood swings , suppresses the immune system and causes inflammation & disease among others.
Stress is believed to be a contributor factor of 80% of all chronic mental and physical conditions, including autoimmune disease, heart disease, digestive issues, sleep problems, diabetes, cancer, depression..
In this amazing Six part series we will use breathwork, posture and meditation to balance the stress hormones, reduce the levels of cortisol and stimulate the production of dopamine, serotonine, endorphines.
We will repair the stress damage to the body including the adrenals producing the stress hormones, the internal organs, immune system, the nervous system and the brain.
We start on Monday 27th of March. A recording of each class will be available the day after to catch up or to practise again. All classes recordings will be available until a week after the last class ends.
