Description
This month is Stress Awareness month and I am very excited to launch the next 6 weeks Kundalini Yoga course to transform Stress into Strength allowing you to approach challenges with a clear and more resilient mindset.
💕Stress occurs when we can’t cope with the demands placed on us by the external world, relationships, work, or simply by ourselves, we tend to put lots of pressure on ourselves to be the best at everything we do.
đź’•Stress is not always caused by negative events, less obvious stressors include not sleeping enough, skipping meals, working long hours, over exercising and taking care of everyone else except yourself. Even positive events such as getting married, landing your dream job or moving can be stressors.
💕Sometimes we aware we are stressed & notice the physical symptoms ( stomach aches, headaches or racing heart ) & the emotional effects ( irritability , fatigue or cravings for sweet or salty food). But many of us are so used to living with stress than we don’t even notice it, we can even thrive in it. When we had a stressful upbringing, we normalise stress since it becomes part of our identity
đź’•However all the stressors have a negative impact on the body, nervous system and hormonal flow.
When our stress response is stuck in the ON position we are constantly pumping Cortisol and/or other stress hormones like Adrenaline and Testosterone into our blood.
đź’•Cortisol is the main stress hormone which increases the blood sugar levels, body fat, gives rise to anxiety, depression and mood swings , suppresses the immune system and causes inflammation & disease among others.
Stress is believed to be a contributor factor of 80% of all chronic mental and physical conditions, including autoimmune disease, heart disease, digestive issues, sleep problems, diabetes, cancer, depression..
In addition you cannot create, make efficient decisions and be successful when you are in survival mood.
đź’•In this amazing Six part series we will use breath-work, posture and meditation to stimulate the vagus nerve, the key regulator of your nervous system and relaxation response, reducing the levels of cortisol and stimulating the production of the dopamine, serotonine, endorphines and oxytocin, navigating the challenges of modern life with grace and ease.
The online life classes are on Mondays from 7pm to 8:30pm. A recording of each session is available the day after until one week after the course ends. We start on Monday 29th of April
