Progressive Vinyasa Flow - is the art of linking a series of postures together with continuity between body, mind, breath and movement. When breath and movement are linked, the mind becomes absorbed in the practice, calming its fluctuations and creating an active form of meditation.

This class follows a progressive style where the theme and sequence will be set around a particular philosophical concept and series of asanas for the entire month. This gives the student the opportunity to start to absorb and embody the concepts more and begin to experience some progression in their physical practice. The sequence will cater to all levels with arm balancing and inventions being offered.

1) Mood Enhancer Workshop (Inversions offered!) - Practice engaging your bandhas and improve the ability to float into inversions or just get a DAMN good workout. There are PLENTY of things to work on if you are not doing headstands, handstands or forearms stands. We work on CORE, balance, hamstrings, arm strength, shoulders and back, hollow body and more! Benefits include: improved circulation, immunity, balance, core and overall strength, decreased pain when done properly, energize (heating inversions are better than a cup of coffee!), relax (cooling inversions calm the nervous system), increase confidence, enhance your mood, stay humble, develop new perspectives and have FUN!

3) Yin Yoga + Mediation + Sound Healing
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style in which poses are held for 3-5 five minutes. Even though it’s passive, Yin Yoga can be quite challenging physically, mentally and emotionally due to the long holds, stillness and silence if you rarely practice these things. Physically we are applying moderate stress to the fascia (connective tissue) – getting deep into the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, organs and systems – with the aim of increasing circulation, flexibility, relaxation, detoxification and releasing stored emotional trauma and tension. Mentally we are practicing sensory withdrawal and concentration which helps to prep you for meditation.

Guided Meditation is an active form of meditation where I will talk you through the experience to achieve a mentally clear, emotionally balanced and physically pain free state of being. Active forms of meditation (continuous concentration & engagement of 1 or more of the 5 senses) are a great way to start prepping for passive meditation (complete deactivation of the 5 senses & sitting in stillness and silence). Passive meditation can be challenging, and I can teach that in private yoga sessions if you are interested.

Sound Healing is an active form of meditation where I play a crystal sound bowl to create healing vibrations that go through the body and help put you in a deeper meditative state. This can also be great for reducing and managing stress, emotional health, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, mental health, heart health and more.

4) Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra—known as yogic sleep—is a conscious relaxation practice, where you are lying on your back for the entire class. Bring as many props to make this as comfortable as you want... think pillows, blankets, blocks, bolsters, etc. This practice is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. One hour of Yoga Nidra equals about 4 hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra has been known to REDUCE insomnia, anxiety, stress, sadness, grief, anger, PTSD, chronic pain and chemical dependence. It can also heighten awareness and focus, transform negative habits, behaviors and ways of thinking, and foster overall feelings of peace, calm, and clarity.
