STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE: AN INVERSION WORKSHOP

Description
What is holding you back from stepping out of that cosy, warm, secure and mundane comfort zone where nothing truly extraordinary happens? What limiting beliefs do you have about yourself that prevent you from taking risks, and moving in the direction you would love to go?
Limiting beliefs can be anything from believing you are not good enough, not skinny enough, good looking enough, not young enough, not intelligent enough, not strong enough, not flexible enough, too injured, too broken, too old… the list goes on. They show up in everything we do, and in every relationship we engage in.
What would our lives look like if we broke down some of those barriers we create for ourselves, and challenged those limiting beliefs?
For me personally, this is what an inversion practice is all about. The way we approach the physical asana (postures) in our yoga practice can help us break down these barriers, and can offer us the tools to work differently and more courageously. And there is nothing like practising a forearm balance or a handstand, that can help us do just that. It is hugely empowering, exhilarating and freeing work.
In this 2hr workshop, we will safely explore forearm balance and handstand (and some fun variations) through a Forrest Yoga inspired sequence of deep core work, energising standing poses and wall work. While core stability (which we will do a lot of!) and strength are important in an inversion practice, what often gets overlooked is that it requires good mobility in the shoulders, hip flexors, hamstrings and wrists. Once we have created more space in these areas, you will float into a handstand with more freedom and ease
