In april 2020 I will graduate as a Mindfulness coach, teaching 'Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction' (MBSR).
MBSR is a scientifically proven programm to help people find a way through (overwhelming) thoughts, feelings and body sensations caused by stress or anxiety. The introduced tools to work with are based on mindfulness meditation techniques. The MBSR method gradually teaches you how to find more awareness of yourself, your thoughts, your body and your response to your environment. From this widened awareness, you’ll learn to integrate what you become aware of to find more (self) care, better connection and communication and a renewed focus on what is valuable to you in life.
We will practice and learn together in a small group (max 6) once a week for 2 hours in 8 consecutive weeks. You will be encouraged to practice at home and work on small assignments in between. The effects of the training highly depend on a regular practice. The change we are looking for in this course requires quite some engagement, perseverance and above all: practice. No worries, I will be there to guide you through it. After the course, you will have enough resources to go on with your practice, with exercises from the syllabus and audio recordings. During the course, a variety of exercises is offered. You will have the opportunity to see what works best for you and go on with your own personal practice of choice after the ending of the course.
INFO SESSION
In this info session I will share all you need to know before you subscribe. I will be very clear on the conditions: when is this course for you? And when not? Other alternatives that might be more suited for you can be discussed. If you are not able to attend the session, we can have a separate (phone) talk. For anyone that subscribes, there will be a personal conversation scheduled before the start of the course.
PRICE
100 € for the pilot MBSR course (normal price around 350 €)

LOCATION
The weekly training will be held at Buurthuis Posthof, Patriottenstraat in Berchem, each Thursday kicking off January 9th 2020.

HOME PRACTICE
It is recommended to invest in a yoga mat and meditation cushion. You don’t have to buy it now. I can give you some advice on what to buy where at the start of the course. Yoga mats can also be ordered with me for 25 €. (brand = YogaMatters) At Posthof, there are mats available for our weekly meeting.
LANGUAGE
This pilot will be conducted in English. My training is in English and as this pilot will be part of my exam, I will have to teach in English. Of course when needed you can ask questions or give feedback in Dutch.
