Louise has studied under and has been trained by the world renowned Manju Jois, Shiva Rea, John Scott, Lucy Crawford, Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. She’s honoured to be one of Manju’s approved Ashtanga teachers and continues her studies with these truly inspiring teachers to this day.
As a teacher Louise feels honoured to share her studies and love of yoga with her students. Her purpose, as an instructor, is to guide students through safe and fun classes with the intention of cultivating peace, happiness and balance. After recently returning to the UK from Vancouver, Canada, I’ve loved settling into life here in Devon and finding calm in nature and community.
Originally from South East London, and with a naturally busy mind, I began practising yoga on the Gold Coast of Australia in 2015 in search of calm — and maybe to loosen some muscles (I had a desk job and ran at the time). What I found was so much more: calm, community, strength, challenge, and an increased love for myself and my body. Yoga became a moving meditation I could actually do. For an hour, I was fully present with myself, yet in the company of others on their own mats. Since then, I have attended classes all over the world, and no matter where I am, it always feels like home.
I completed my Hatha teacher training in Vancouver, Canada, in 2019, and taught within the local community to students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Now, as a mum to a young son, yoga feels like an hour’s holiday — a time to reconnect, recharge, and find stillness amidst the beautiful chaos of everyday life, even if that means spending most of the class in Child’s Pose.
My classes are open to everyone. I understand that yoga means different things to different people, and that each person comes to the mat for their own reasons. I invite you to come as you are, settle in, breathe, and move — and perhaps leave feeling a little lighter, stronger, and more grounded than when you arrived.

Yoga has been a complete game- Changer for me. It’s not just about the poses; it’s a philosophy that helped me embrace a truly healthy and happy lifestyle. After training in Goa, India and obtaining my Yoga Alliance qualification, I now share the practices that have transformed me.

Louise Holland
Join Louise for her holistic classes at the Ocean Wellness Hub
Louise is an award winning teacher and is the director and founder of The Ocean Wellness Hub and previously Jala Flow Yoga, a sanctuary of Holistic Yoga, Pilates and wellness classes.
Louise began her yoga journey in 1997 after stumbling across a class in a gym where she was teaching fitness classes. Yoga captured her heart and it wasn’t long before she was completely hooked! Her passion for the practice of asana and meditation has since grown into a lifestyle.

Louise is a Senior Yoga Alliance instructor. She is qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga and is level 4 REP's (Register of Exercise Professional). She is a Holistic Yoga Flow teacher and has been teaching classes and workshops across the uk since 2001.
Louise has studied under and has been trained by the world renowned Manju Jois, Shiva Rea, John Scott, Lucy Crawford, Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. She’s honoured to be one of Manju’s approved Ashtanga teachers and continues her studies with these truly inspiring teachers to this day.
As a teacher Louise feels honoured to share her studies and love of yoga with her students. Her purpose, as an instructor, is to guide students through safe and fun classes with the intention of cultivating peace, happiness and balance. She aims for everyone to leave her classes feeling healthier and happier than they were when they walked in!

My qigong journey began when I returned to Dorset in 1999 after more than a decade in London. My new lifestyle gave me the opportunity to join a local yoga class. During summer workshops, our teacher introduced us to different practices, including qigong. The slow, mindful movements immediately struck a chord. At a time when I rushed through everything, qigong’s subtlety and focus were a revelation. The grace of the teacher and the movements inspired me to want to teach qigong one day.
With no qigong classes nearby, I joined a tai chi group to develop related skills. A move to Berkshire in 2013 led me to train as a holistic therapist, studying massage and reflexology. I finally found a local qigong class and realised how deeply it resonated with me. I launched Rooke Holistic Therapies in 2015 and achieved my long-held goal of becoming a qigong teacher in 2019 after a three-year training course. Teaching has become my favourite way to practise, and I always leave classes feeling better.
After more than ten years away, I wanted to move back to the West Country and fulfil a lifelong desire to live by the sea. I was drawn to Sidmouth and am glad to be able to share qigong in the beautiful studio at the Ocean Wellness Hub. My class is open to all, whether you are a beginner or more experienced. Do come and give it a go…
