Karen is a new Registered Yoga Teacher. She has 26 years of experience in education working with individuals with disabilities. Through her training, she gained a solid understanding of yogic practices, including philosophy, theory, therapeutics, and functional anatomy. She recently completed a rigorous yoga instructor training program with a focus in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha Yoga, as well as Chair yoga and Ayurvedic practices. Karen’s intention behind every class will be to provide an experience that individuals come away with new knowledge and leave feeling empowered. Her focus will be to provide individualized instruction for beginner students and challenge advanced students in a comfortable environment that promotes empathy and acceptance of all levels of abilities, experience, body types, and ages. She looks forward to continued opportunities to grow her practice as a teacher and share it with others.
This class builds strength and stamina and increases flexibility and balance. Enjoy 60 minutes of yoga with Karen. This is a modified primary series suitable for students who have some experience, those who want to move to the next level, as well as beginners. A modified primary series of Ashtanga Yoga rivals a work out at the gym, but leaves you feeling relaxed and energetic. The series begins with Sun Salutations as a warm up, working through full body stretches, and ends with Savasana. This is your opportunity to prioritize yourself and work towards a new level of fitness in an accepting, fun environment. Let’s do this TOGETHER!
