I dabbled in yoga for years, but it didn’t become an anchor in my life until my son had a traumatic accident. After his accident, I started experiencing debilitating anxiety that was affecting my daily life and my relationships. I knew I needed to do something to bring calm into my life, so I decided to practice yoga every day for 30 days. I was returning to myself after just two weeks and felt better and better every day I practiced yoga. Because yoga had such a profound impact on my mental health, I knew I wanted to share this with others. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training with MaKa Movement in 2022. I am also certified in Trauma-Informed Somatic Wellness, and am fascinated by Yoga Nidra. My passion lies in breathwork - helping people connect to their inner peace through their breath - and beginner yoga. So many people tell me that they can’t do yoga or aren’t flexible enough for yoga, so making yoga accessible to them and showing them that they can do it is one of my favorite things as a teacher. I am a RYT200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School.
Description
Ashtanga yoga is a very physical and athletic form of yoga, consisting of a series of poses - always in the same order - linked together with breath. Because the practice demands an intense level of endurance, physical strength, and flexibility, this Ashtanga Prep class will equip you with foundational knowledge of the order of postures, as well as how to do each posture.

While Ashtanga classes move quickly, we will slow down the practice and spend time learning each pose, with and without modification.
