Yin yoga is a passive practice where each asana (posture) is held for several minutes. The asanas are a variation of classical yoga postures. This holding is non-muscular and instead targets our deeper tissues, such as our bones, joints and the deep facia tissue. To help each student find the edge of their own resistance, props and alternative postures are suggested so they are challenged in a safe and secure manner.
*** To enhance your yin yoga experience, please bring a yoga mat and wear socks and warm comfy clothes (layers work great). As we relax in this practice our body can begin to feel cool.
