DESCRIPTION: Join me for an evening of Yin Yoga and Kirtan. In Yin we move slowly, we hold poses for a few minutes at a time and focus on the breath as we allow the body to stretch. We will follow this up with Kirtan which is a form of Bhakti Yoga or 'devotion'. We chant, usually in Sanskrit, and this can be thought of as meditation or prayer to the divine. I will have the words written out and will be playing the chords on my harmonium. You don't have to be able to sing, because it is about community, opening the heart, and being in a meditative group as opposed to singing perfectly.
