The practice places an emphasis on breath as a tool for pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and is both invigorating and gentle. Join Emily Sustar, RPYT, RYT 500, & Birthing From Within mentor, & Erin Edwards, LPN, IBCLC, former long time doula, & L & D nurse, for a comprehensive childbirth preparation course designed to empower both the birthing person and their partner. This course will cover the basics of birth; what happens in labor + delivery & postpartum, coping techniques, movement, breath, and strategies to add to your toolbox for the birth journey, mental and physical preparation for the parenthood transition, the 4th trimester, and breastfeeding / chestfeeding preparation + support.

Week 1- Empowered Pregnancy = Empowered Birth
(scaling expectations, labor theater, pain vs suffering, mindset work, mantras, breath, movement for pregnancy, birth plan, + intentions, coping tools)

Week 2- Basics of Birth + Movement for Labor (basic anatomy, overview of phases / stages of labor & birth, putting it all together & putting it into practice)

Week 3- Immediate Postpartum + 4th trimester (newborn cares, mama repairs, PMADS, boundaries for help postpartum, setting up postpartum support game plan)

Week 4- Breastfeeding Basics (initiating breastfeeding, the golden hour(s), the first 2 weeks, bottles, pumping basics)

Baby + Me yoga classes are sessions of healing and supportive yoga aimed to provide time for bonding with baby, intentional movement and breath to heal the body postpartum, and a chance to connect with other caregivers and babies. Movements and poses in this offering are intentionally chosen to support healing and building strength for postpartum mamas in key areas that undergo a lot during pregnancy and birth (hello - deep core, pelvic floor, glutes, hips, and upper back / neck!). Baby + Me yoga celebrates the differences in your body and the incredible work it has done continues to do.
This class is most appropriate for babies who are 0- 12 months (or are not fully mobile yet).

This class includes connection, & community through sharing information and discussion + a 50-60 minute baby and me yoga class.

Drop your child ages 1-8 years old at the play spot while you attend yoga classes or the Motherhood United Support Group alone or with your baby. This child watch program is on-site & facilitated by our fabulous interns, offering games, art activities, and play, while you move & breathe. This service is free for those attending yoga classes and $10 for those attending the Motherhood United Support Group. Please include your child's name and age when you register.
