Description
Join in the yoga of sound, and of the heart…

Mantra is perhaps one of the most powerful and widely employed tools among wisdom traditions to free the mind.

Hearing, repeating, and meditating on Sanskrit mantras can quiet the mind, enliven the heart, and awaken a perceived sense of connection to a greater whole.

In this session we get to experience the power of mantra and community all at once by chanting and singing aloud together with musical accompaniment.

Although there are musical instruments Kirtan is not a performance, and there is no audience. Think of it more as a co-creation where we’re ALL in the band!

You don’t think you’re musical? That’s ok! Kirtan isn’t about musical ability either…

It’s all about the intention and the mood that goes into it and it’s always so much more about what you feel than how you sound.

This yoga hails from a culture that is vibrant, and colourful. It is full of emotion, personality, and devotion. Kirtan has been described as food for the heart and soul, but as George Harrison used to say, ‘The proof of the pudding is in the eating!’.
