Traditional Hatha Yoga
Uprising Yoga heeft bewust gekozen voor deze traditionele yoga vorm. Hatha-yoga is een tak van yoga die bestaat uit een systeem van oefeningen om beheersing te verkrijgen over de geest en vooral het lichaam. Hatha Yoga is de basis van de meeste moderne Yoga vormen, het is een fysieke yogavariant die voor het grootste deel bestaat uit de beoefening van lichaamshoudingen (asana's) en ademhalingstechnieken (pranayama). Meditatie is voor veel yogi's een belangrijke afronding om de eenheid van lichaam en geest te voelen. De lessen beginnen met een korte meditatie, ademhalingsoefeningen en enkele series zonnegroeten om het lichaam op te warmen. Prana Flow (Vinyasa):
Prana in yogic tradition is the elemental life force or energy, often equated with the breath. Vinyasa is the Sanskrit term for flow, or literally, “to place or deposit in a certain way”. Prana Vinyasa, then, is the intentional flow or placement of life force throughout the body.
We’ll explore this connection of movement and breath/prana through a challenging sequence, beginning with an energizing warm-up, building to an empowering flow that culminates in the exploration of a peak asana and balancing work, and then turning inward to core cultivation and a series of gentler asanas to prepare you for a relaxing savasana meditation.
You’ll leave feeling refreshed, recharged, and balanced (the flow encourages the removal of any energetic blockages in the subtle body).

Yoga @ the lake was vanaf het begin een groot succes, Inmiddels deelt Gregory al 3 jaar vanaf eind mei zijn “privéplekje” met zijn yogi’s. De lessen worden gegeven op een dek aan het prachtige Gaasperplas het schoonste water van Amsterdam. Op warme dagen kun je na de les zo vanuit het dek een duik in het water nemen.

Yoga @ the lake was a great success from the beginning 3 years ago. Since Gregory has been sharing his "private spot" with his students. The lessons are given on a deck bordering the beautiful lake ‘Gaasperplas’, the cleanest fresh water lake in Amsterdam. On hot days you can take a refreshing dip in the lake from the deck after class.

Traditional Hatha Yoga
Uprising Yoga has consciously opted for this traditional yoga form. Hatha yoga is a branch of yoga that consists of a system of exercises to gain control over the mind and especially the body. Hatha Yoga is the basis of most modern Yoga forms, it is a physical yoga variant that for the most part consists of the practice of postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama). For many yogis, meditation is an important completion to feel the unity of body and mind. The lessons start with a short meditation, breathing exercises and a few series of sun salutations to warm up the body. Then the asanas, the different yoga postures that alternate with moments of relaxation. The Hatha yoga classes of Uprising Yoga are accessible to all levels.

Traditional Hatha Yoga
Uprising Yoga heeft bewust gekozen voor deze traditionele yoga vorm. Hatha-yoga is een tak van yoga die bestaat uit een systeem van oefeningen om beheersing te verkrijgen over de geest en vooral het lichaam. Hatha Yoga is de basis van de meeste moderne Yoga vormen, het is een fysieke yogavariant die voor het grootste deel bestaat uit de beoefening van lichaamshoudingen (asana's) en ademhalingstechnieken (pranayama). Hatha-yoga bestaat voornamelijk uit niet-bewegende asana's. Meditatie is voor veel yogi's een belangrijke afronding om de eenheid van lichaam en geest te voelen. De lessen beginnen met een korte meditatie, ademhalingsoefeningen en enkele series zonnegroeten om het lichaam op te warmen. Vervolgens de asana’s, de verschillende yogahoudingen die worden afgewisseld met ontspanningsmomenten. De Hatha yoga lessen van Uprising Yoga zijn toegankelijk voor alle niveau’s.

Vanaf 24 mei heeft Uprising een zomerrooster met Open Air yogalessen, aan het prachtige Gaasperplas, en op het dakterras van The Fizz het gebouw waarin de Uprising Yogastudio is gevestigd. Ervaar samen met Uprising Yoga de kracht van yoga in de natuur en yoga in de buitenlucht.

Yoga @ the lake was vanaf het begin een groot succes, Inmiddels deelt Gregory al 3 jaar vanaf eind mei zijn “privéplekje” met zijn yogi’s. De lessen worden gegeven op een dek aan het prachtige Gaasperplas het schoonste water van Amsterdam. Op warme dagen kun je na de les zo vanuit het dek een duik in het water nemen.

Yoga @ the lake
Uprising Yoga observes a summer schedule starting May 24th. Open Air yoga classes are provided at the beautiful Gaasper lake. Additionally, Uprising Yoga organizes rooftop yoga classes at the Rooftop of The Fizz, the building where Uprising studio is situated.Experience the power of yoga in nature and the great outdoors together with Uprising Yoga.

Yoga @ the lake was a great success from the beginning 3 years ago. Since Gregory has been sharing his "private spot" with his students. The lessons are given on a deck bordering the beautiful lake ‘Gaasperplas’, the cleanest fresh water lake in Amsterdam. On hot days you can take a refreshing dip in the lake from the deck after class.
