DESCRIPTION: The practice of Yoga Nidra is an organic journey into the state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. In this liminal space, we navigate through the layers of self toward pure awareness and sow a fertile seed in the transformative soils of our minds.
Yoga Nidra induces both low alpha and high theta brain waves, associated with presence or alertness and sleep or meditation, respectfully. While alpha brain waves are thought to coordinate with perceiving the “outer” world, theta brain waves are thought to coordinate with sensing signals from within. Through this meditative union of inner and outer worlds, it is said that one can reach samadhi - or blissful contemplation, undisturbed by desire.
As an added bonus, one hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to four hours of sleep.
