I have been leading Yogaschool Amsterdam since 1999 and as a Senior (Level 3 certified Iyengar yoga-) teacher I'm authorized to conduct therapeutic yoga classes, train people to become Iyengar yoga teachers and to assess candidate teachers in the context of our Dutch association.
I started taking Iyengar yoga classes with Charles Hond in 1990. Iyengar yoga fascinates me enormously and I would like to share that. I am particularly interested in yoga that speaks to the heart, is clear and challenging. Yoga teaches us a lot about the nature of which we are a part and also about the unchanging soul where appearance, gender, status, age, color, origin do not count. When you practice yoga, you sometimes get a hint, a clear moment that makes the things that were confused, or vague, fall into place so that you can stand firm in the world but not get carried away by the delusions of the day.

"The mind is the king of the senses, and the breath is the king of the mind.” Quote by B.K.S. Iyengar.

Pranayama means: "the path of the life energy". Where the practice of Asana aligns the body, observing and cultivating our breath can lead our energy towards a good direction.
You can join if you have at least two years of regular Iyengar yoga experience.
Do ask your teacher when you hesitate this class is suitable for you.
We ask you not to come if you have symptoms of disease or a fever. Please arrive on time and if possible with your yoga clothes on.
