I am so excited for this 6 weeks course, moving and being able to do it well is such a key element in being alive and human (and the thing I am more passionate about than anything else). And whilst we all probably know that, the way that the modern world works, makes it difficult to know where to start, what to prioritise and how to integrate that into our lives.
This course will be highly practical and functional, with the aim to restore, maintain and improve mobility and stability in all our joints and muscles. The first step in this is body awareness, knowing what our bodies are capable of, understanding what the body is telling us, but also knowing where our body is. Once we are more aware of the body, the next steps usually become quite evident. Most likely a combination of improving both flexibility, strength and balancing exercises will be needed.
The course will also be somewhat theoretical, meaning: when we are doing things, I will not only explain the how, but also the why and what the short and long term effects are. This will make it much easier to incorporate good movement into our daily lives, where it is going to have the biggest impact.
The long-term goal of this course is to mitigate the degenerative effects of aging, helping you maintain independence and a pain-free life for as long as possible. In the shorter term, it will increase body awareness, reduce pain and tension, and make movement more enjoyable and accessible. These benefits naturally encourage more movement, amplifying its positive effects on physical, mental, and emotional health.
This course is not suitable for complete movement beginners.
This course is ideal for:
- Regular yoga practitioners looking to deepen their practice.
- Movers from other disciplines, such as Pilates, fitness, running
Anyone interested in mobility, healthy aging, and exploring the science of movement.
If you’ve been practicing yoga or other forms of movement and want to enhance your understanding while improving how you move and feel, this course is for you!
I am, as I said stated above, very passionate about movement, moving well and healthy aging. I have trained in and studied a lot of courses in anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, yoga and movement. All of this will be incorporated into this course to look at the body and the way it moves as a whole. How the feet effect our hips, how the eyes effect our back and so on.
I can't wait!
