DESCRIPTION: By slowing the mind and the beats of the heart, we will take a journey of powerful connection into the body, mind and soul. Working through the five elements to bring balance to both the physical and subtle body.

This is your opportunity to tune into the body and observe the mind.

Five weeks of Elemental Yin

Week one - Wood element : Gall Bladder & Liver Meridian lines

Week two - Fire element : Small Intestine & Heart Meridian Lines

Week three - Earth element : Stomach & Spleen Meridian Lines

Week four - Metal element : Lungs & Large Intestine Meridian Lines

Week five - Water element : Kidney & Urinary Bladder Meridian lines

Yin Yoga Principles
The three principles of Yin (the three Tattvas)
1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth (find your edge and diminish the Ego)
2. Resolve to remain still (unless your body opens and allows you to go deeper)
3. Hold the pose for prolonged periods of time (1-20 minutes)

By following the three Tattvas of Yin, we are able work past the superficial layers of the body - tapping into our energy channels (meridian lines/Nadis) in a similar way to acupressure, as well as working into the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as the Tendons, Ligaments and Joint capsules.

Benefits of Yin yoga
-Lifelong improvements in flexibility and Range of motion
-Strengthening and stabilising joints
-Restoring balance and removing energy blockages
-Stretching and compressing internal organs
-Triggering the Parasympathetic Nervous System - The state of rest and digest
-Allowing the mind to become present and focused

Yin yoga is beneficial for all ages and levels of fitness, and is key to balancing our Yang lifestyles and practices.
