Sabrina Bodden
Sabrina Bodden is an E-CYT-500 who completed her initial 200-hr teacher training through the Madison based Alignment Yoga program with Scott Anderson in 2011-2012, whose teachings are inspired by Eichens & Iyengar Yoga.
Almost a decade and 1500 hours of teaching group classes later, Sabrina completed the 300-hr Spiritual Warrior Training through Yoga Farm Ithaca in 2021, learning the teachings of Kundalini from the Raj Yoga lineage of the East, along with deeper explorations of Ayurvedic Medicine, Enneagram Studies and Cycle Guidance.
As a Birth Doula & retired Licensed Massage Therapist, Sabrina has gained extensive knowledge of anatomy & physiology, how the human body copes with and heals from stress and injury, and how to connect with people "where they are" to honor each person's needs and abilities.
Sabrina has faced chronic pain and debilitating nerve impingement most of her life, due to a genetic connective tissue disorder, combined with Scoliosis and sensory processing issues. Because of her experience with suffering and grief around the loss of function in her body, Sabrina understands that yoga isn't really about what you can or can't do physically, but how your respond to what's happening in each moment.
Before discovering Alignment Yoga, Sabrina used a walker, and had little to no use of her right arm. She had to give up her career as a Wedding & Portrait Photographer, and spent years in unbearable pain, losing hope for improvement. Thanks to the focus on physics & physiology offered by the Alignment Yoga program, healing of decades of trauma in the body and mind became possible. Having the privilege of receiving and sharing this practice gives Sabrina a sense of purpose, knowing the difference it can make for each person's life.
Sabrina's classes invite students to know and honor their limits, non-judgmentally, and to use the practice to find their way into their own body, rather than trying to force their bodies into any specific shape. There are no expectations in the space where Sabrina shares practice, aside from the willingness to breathe and be curious, you are encouraged to show up as you are, and take the style of practice that serves you best in every moment.

Sarah Dimick
Sarah came to yoga in her 20’s as a way to rehabilitate a running injury. She stayed with yoga for the many benefits, beyond the physical, that come with a consistent practice.
As a school psychologist, Sarah completed her 200 hour training with Breathe 4 Change, an organization specializing in bringing wellness and yoga to educators. She furthered her training through the Indra Yoga Institute 300 hour program, focusing on Ayurveda and trauma- informed practices, with the goal of creating wellness spaces for diverse communities. Sarah has several children’s yoga certifications, as well as Silver Sneakers instructor certification, bringing the joy of yoga to all ages and abilities.
Over 15 years of leading yoga classes have confirmed Sarah’s belief that the physical practice of yoga can be accessible to all bodies, movement can be fun and invoke a sense of freedom, and the practice can create space for self-compassion and resilience.
One of Sarah’s favorite quotes:

I am grateful, humbled, and honored at the opportunity to guide this sacred practice. To be a witness of all the beautiful expressions is such a gift. My most important background includes being a father of 2 amazing beings and a calling to health and wellness both as a continual student and teacher. The path that led me here consisted of climbing a corporate ladder, branching out as an entrepreneur and inventor, becoming abundant and satisfied yet, still finding myself unfulfilled and questioning purpose.
I took a sabbatical from the business world and began pursuing my passion of yoga and expanding my consciousness. I entered the turnstiles of Yoga through Hatha and its physicality. I discovered moving meditation and was brought to tears in this practice.
Confused but hooked, I applied my new daily practice to my pursuit of physicality paired with Madison’s 2016 Ironman. I still continued to drive, seek and did not satisfy my thirst. I began a quest of deeper understanding, converting knowledge to Wisdom in Yoga, Ayurveda, Astrology, Breathwork, Ceremonial, Entheogens, Energy work and Healing. I found surrender in this pursuit and the journey became the destination.
I am a certified Yoga Instructor, a certified Breathwork Teacher, and Advanced Theda-Healing Practitioner. I am also Alert Awareness, Enthusiasm, Gratefulness, Intentionality, Joy, Love, Play, Presence, Loving Awareness, and in absolute Bliss for the gift of this experience we call life. I am dedicated to a life of service to the Nameless of all that is and of all humans, healing and expansion of consciousness.
My style focuses on embodied consciousness by knitting the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Subconscious arenas of our experience through Breath, Energetics, and Hatha Yoga, (Vinyasa/Iyengar). I branch from traditional Asanas and sequencing based in Ashtanga A and B but read the room and adjust as called. As we stand in the elements provided of earth in our body, the oceans in our blood, the wind in our lungs, and Fire in our souls, I invite you to join me in this energic dance of fusing the instrument of our existence with movement of the moment, postures of our ancestors, knitting both together in sacred breathwork and mantra, all while embracing the absolute power of surrender and stillness. A’ho and Namaste.

Alyssa Ploessl first discovered yoga in a high school physical education class, and soon realized that it would become a lifetime practice. A practice of asana, pranayama, and meditation, but also a practice of being truthful, a practice of being kind, a practice of being fearless, peaceful and happy. She believes that the practice of “yoga” is continuous; it does not stop when you roll up the yoga mat. Yoga includes the way you live your life, the way you relate to your family, friends, co-workers and to strangers on the street. This is the lifelong process of developing yogic awareness.
Alyssa completed a 200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga teacher training course in 2015 through Dragonfly Hot Yoga. Since then, she has completed numerous other trainings in Yin Yoga, pranayama, alignment, assisting, and more. Alyssa believes that you never stop being a student of yoga, and has plans to continue her education in other areas of yoga in the future.

Description
This style of yoga matches movements to the pace and transitions of the breath, and usually includes a mindful warmup, a few sun salutations, balancing, twisting, back-bending and forward folding postures (asana). This class is similar to a Vinyasa Flow, with moments of rest and reflection as we enjoy the sensory delights of essential oils.
Class ends with an optional cold aroma towel and will always include a nurturing resting pose ("Savasana") to seal your practice.
Please inform your instructor if you are dealing with any injuries or illnesses, and always be mindful to practice within your own healthy boundaries (honor your limitations and ask questions if you're ever unsure).

Akiwele Burayidi
Akiwele Burayidi is a RYT-200 who was first introduced to yoga by her mother. Akiwele has always been fascinated by bodies in motion. When she began taking dance lessons at the age of four, this fascination soon became a passion. By the age of ten, she took classes several days a week to train in classical ballet and contemporary dance.
During this time, Akiwele used yoga to keep her body safe and find moments of stillness. As she grew older she began to delve further into the history and theory of yoga. This curiosity led her to enroll in the RajaHatha School of Yoga teacher training. In February of 2021, she graduated as a 200-hour certified yoga teacher under the direction of Amy Pearce-Hayden.
Now a fourth-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she is pursuing degrees in Health Promotion & Health Equity and Dance. She hopes to share her passion for movement with people by creating safe, accessible, and inclusive spaces to connect with the breath and explore gentle movement.

9:15 AM - 10:30 AM

Alyssa Ploessl

This style of yoga that matches movements to the pace and transitions of the breath, and usually includes repetitive Sun Salutations as a part of the warm up. This class is similar to "Slow Flow", but without as many long holds and less explanation of each pose.
Class usually ends with an optional cold aroma towel and a nurturing resting pose ("Savasana") to seal your practice.
Please inform your instructor if you are dealing with any injuries or illnesses, and always be mindful to practice within your own healthy boundaries (honor your limitations and ask questions if you're ever unsure).
Want a truly amazing Sunday evening?? Stay for Aroma Yin, starting at 6pm!
