Betty Marie
Hello, my name is Bettymarie, I am a mom of two children, breast cancer survivor, love to travel (including visiting different yoga studios wherever I am) play pickleball, bowl in addition to practicing and guiding others in their yoga practice. I am currently employed as a Licensed Master Social Worker and School Counselor in the Ken-Ton schools where I get to share the benefits of Mindfulness and Yoga with the students in my building. I have been practicing yoga over 25 years and it was 10 years ago that I began to explore more deeply the benefits of yoga which had a profound impact on me physically, mentally and spiritually. It was three years ago that I felt a calling to become a teacher and returned to the place that I kept gravitating towards these many years, The Himalayan Institute of Buffalo. It is here where I did my teacher training, completing 500 hours of specific training within the Himalayan tradition. In addition, I have been trained in Trauma-Informed Yoga, Yoga for Children and Teens and the Veterans Yoga Project (I am spouse to a NAVY Veteran and a mom to son who is serving in the Air Force), Mind-Body (American Red Cross – Service to Armed Forces) and a Reiki Practitioner - Level 2. I look forward to being a part of your journey as you explore the benefits of yoga in your life.

Description

Come and rewind from your weekend and prepare your mind and body for the week ahead.
Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that focuses on relaxing the mind and body. Unlike other forms of yoga, ex: Vinyasa, restorative yoga involves holding various yoga poses (5-7 for this class) for an extended period using the support of props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps, or a wall). This allows the body to release tension and stress, facilitating deep relaxation within each pose. Restorative yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience.
I invite you (and a friend) to explore the tranquility and healing potential of restorative yoga and discover the impact it can have on your overall emotional well-being, reduce stress, improve sleep, enhance flexibility, relieve pain, and strengthen the mind-body connection through the use of the breath.
Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, restorative yoga provides a valuable opportunity to slow down, relax, and restore balance in your life.
