Description
The Yoga for Health and Wellbeing series is designed to empower people to take their health back in their hands.
At the end of each class, I will provide you with a handout with a short sequence, so that you can continue to practice at home and have in your hands a resource to use when needed.
Every session will be dedicated to a specific area or system of the body. We will be using Yoga asanas coordinated with the breath, breathing practices, deep relaxation and guided meditations.
We will learn how to modify classical asanas, to make them more accessible and increase their potential beneficial effects, as they relate to the highlighted area.
We will also learn how to use the breath and other yogic tools (such as mantras, chanting, meditations, awareness exercises) to support our health and wellbeing at different levels.
Every class, while focusing on a specific area, will be always designed to enhance muscular strength and body flexibility, to promote and improve respiratory and cardiovascular function, and to reduce stress levels.
At the end of the class, you will feel balanced and relaxed, but also reenergized, ready to face the day ahead of you.
My teachings are mainly inspired by the ViniYoga tradition, that is a western development of T. Krishnamacharya's original teachings. I also use some evidence based practices derived from fascia and neuroscience research and from the iRest protocol developed by Richard Miller, PhD.
