Description

In this 4-week virtual yoga series you will learn yoga postures and breath work to support a healthy low back.

A healthy low back requires a balance of strength, stability, mobility, and flexibility of the spine and neighboring structures. An immobile or weak spine, hips, pelvic floor, sacroiliac (SI) joint, and diaphragm all may contribute to dysfunction of the low back.

Strengthening, stabilizing, mobilizing and stretching the regions of the body that transmit force on the lumbar spine can assist in creating optimal function and freedom of movement for the health of the low back.

If you experience any of the following, this series is for you:
-low-grade, intermittent spine dysfunction or pain associated with select daily activities
-intermittent hip or groin pain
-intermittent sacroiliac (SI) joint irritation
-poor or weak posture
-inability to maintain a position (ie standing, sitting, lying down) for a reasonable period of time

This class is not for you if:

-you have an acute / sudden injury that has not been evaluated by a physician, physical therapist or other provider
-constant, high-grade pain that limits your mobility, activity and function
you have osteoporosis of the spine warranting activity overseen by a --physical therapist

This class is not intended to treat, diagnose or cure any spinal ailments and is not considered a replacement for individualized care by a licensed provider. Please inquire if you are unsure if this class is appropriate for you to participate.

All bodies welcome to attend.
