My name is Andrea.
Ever since I can remember, I have been drawn to questions that lead to a deeper understanding of myself. This interest stems from a desire to understand my place in the world, not from the frameworks imposed on me by others or society, but from my own inner perspective.
For years, I approached this quest in an analytical and rational way, until I came into contact with yoga. Yoga opened up a completely new approach to getting to know myself, and I found that incredibly inspiring.
For me, yoga brings life to life. I see asana yoga as a way to explore our own home – our body – and learn to listen to what it tells us. I see breathing exercises and pranayama as the gateway to our nervous system and understanding our emotions and feelings. And I see meditation as a moment to really ‘come home’, to get to know yourself from the inside out, instead of the other way around. I also bring this approach to my classes. In this way, there is space for each person to choose what resonates the most at that moment when they step onto the mat.
Beschrijving
This class is a gentle vinyasa flow, where movement is used as a way to connect to the body and the breath leads the way to bring more intention and presence to our minds. This is a slow-paced class that combines dynamic and static poses. The dynamic poses are used to open up the body, release tension, and create a deep connection of breath to movement. They aim at increasing flexibility in a gentle, but powerful way. The static poses are more an invitation to find stillness by feeling the sensations that arise in the body. They allow to turn the attention more inwards and create this deeper cultivation of awareness. No experience with yoga, breathwork, or meditation is required, it is accessible to all levels.
