The primary posture category for creating Apana is forward folds, with twists as support. Apana can also be strengthened by lengthening the exhalation. Apana is not only responsibly for physical elimination of toxins and waste, but the elimination of mental energy. It is the force that supports us in releasing, emptying, letting go, and creating more space in our bodies and minds.
