About Karma Yoga with Bety - at the Shangrila Studio

My yoga journey began when I was only 18, searching for something to ground me - I found it on the mat. From that first class, yoga became a constant in my life.

Wherever I lived, I’ve always found the nearest yoga studio - following the pull toward breath, movement, and something more. I’ve always been drawn to the spiritual heart of the practice; the quiet moments where body, mind, and soul seem to align in rare moments of clarity and inner peace.

In the last few years, I became a mother and had a whole chapter of healing where my body and mind were challenged in completely new ways. This is when I came to have an even deeper appreciation for the power of this practice. Yoga held me in my most tender season. It gave me strength when I needed it most, and helped me reconnect to my body in a way that felt loving, patient and whole.

It was then I knew I wanted to share this with others. I got my teacher’s training in the hopes of passing along the same healing, empowerment, and self-trust that yoga gave me.

My mission is to create a space for others to come home to themselves. To move gently, breathe deeply, and feel seen.

Today, I’m rooted in community and led by heart. I believe in creating the safety others need to soften, to grow, and to just be.

Outside the studio, you’ll find me painting, catching sunsets, or exploring the town with my husband, toddler, & Boston terrier. I’m here for slow mornings, soul-deep laughter, and finding magic in the small things!
