Brandy K. Nicholson, RYT-200
Bridging the Balance Yoga, LLC
Brandy has her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a national certified licensed professional counselor, certified clinical mental health counselor, and a registered play therapist (LPC NCC RPT) at Bridging the Balance, LLC, as well as an elementary school counselor, and works with clients who have experienced trauma. During her Ph.D. research of techniques to assist her clients who had experienced trauma, she found significant scientific research showing that yoga and mindfulness alongside mental health counseling were effective in treating trauma.
Brandy began regularly practicing yoga in 2020 and after she began to feel the effects of yoga on herself, she decided to open a small practice—Bridging the Balance Yoga, LLC—to share the benefits she had experienced from yoga. Soon after, she decided to be trained to teach yoga and became an RYT—registered yoga teacher—so that she could teach the classes herself and share the benefits of yoga with others.
Brandy is an RYT-200 registered through Yoga Alliance. She earned her certification from Yovana Yoga, LLC (Sarah DeFoor and Grace Stephen) in June of 2021. Brandy plans to continue her study of yoga and the many benefits on the mind, body, and soul.
