I have been doing yoga for over ten years, and have had the honor of learning from and experiencing many different yogic practices. I recently received my 200 hour YTT in Costa Rica and am excited to continue to grow my practice through teaching. I hope to inspire others and myself to learn more about the wisdom yoga has brought into the world for thousands of years. I believe yoga is fundamental in encouraging a deeper connection with ourselves and our bodies.
Description
This class will be an interdisciplinary flow inspired by multiple yoga traditions. Experience heat building, breath connectivity, nervous system regulation, and the integration of intuition found within the body. This will be a balanced flow beginning with an opening meditation, building into energetic asanas (postures), followed by stretching, and concluding with Savasana. During the hour we will share together I invite you to let your body be your guide as we learn, move, and breath together.

ABOUT ME
My name is Aria, I was born in Puerto Rico and found yoga in 2012 while living and studying in NYC. My journey into yoga began at Yoga to the People and it immediately changed the course of my life. I soon realized yoga to be a powerful tool for self-transformation, which unites one’s mind, body and spirit with the divine force within.
I have always been a seeker and my studies into yoga inspired me to travel and see the world. In 2016 I moved to Australia where I worked with Greenpeace. This experience changed my perspective on the importance of living consciously through our actions. Everything in my life changed as I found a deeper relationship with yoga. I wanted to learn from the source, so I decided to pursue my yoga teacher training with Bharath Shetty, founder of Indea Yoga in Mysore, India. Upon my return to Puerto Rico in 2017, I began Island Yoga for the people of Culebra.
My hope is that this practice helps us connect with who we really are by purifying our minds and strengthening our body’s that we may create a deeper relationship with ourselves and others in order to hear the truth of who we are.

Description
The open heart flow is an invigorating class focused on inhabiting the heart space. The practice is focused on backbending and forward folding asanas, with the intention of staying connected and peaceful during our most vulnerable moments. Practicing backbends open up the front body, increase hip flexibility, and improve the mobility of the lumbar and thoracic spine. The anahata chakra, located in the center of the chest, serves as our center for love and compassion. By inhabiting the heart center using breath and movement, one is able to increase our sense of well-being, confidence, and connection to the world.
