ABOUT ME
My name is Aria, I was born in Puerto Rico and found yoga in 2012 while living and studying in NYC. My journey into yoga began at Yoga to the People and it immediately changed the course of my life. I soon realized yoga to be a powerful tool for self-transformation, which unites one’s mind, body and spirit with the divine force within.
I have always been a seeker and my studies into yoga inspired me to travel and see the world. In 2016 I moved to Australia where I worked with Greenpeace. This experience changed my perspective on the importance of living consciously through our actions. Everything in my life changed as I found a deeper relationship with yoga. I wanted to learn from the source, so I decided to pursue my yoga teacher training with Bharath Shetty, founder of Indea Yoga in Mysore, India. Upon my return to Puerto Rico in 2017, I began Island Yoga for the people of Culebra.
My hope is that this practice helps us connect with who we really are by purifying our minds and strengthening our body’s that we may create a deeper relationship with ourselves and others in order to hear the truth of who we are.
Description
Ashtanga vinyasa is a rigorous form of yoga, which builds strength and flexibility. The practice has a set sequence of asanas where breath and movement become synchronized.
This coordination of breath and movement while working through asanas builds up an internal heat that improves blood circulation, thus releasing toxins, impurities and relieving pain from the body. This energetic class develops focus and stamina, and keeps you in shape both mentally and physically.

Hi, I'm Florencia Colón, a 500hr Trauma Informed YT and the founder of Collective Healing. Born and raised in the west side of Puerto Rico, my passion lies in helping others heal from trauma by regulating their nervous system through the practice of yoga. Through various tools such as asana, meditation, journaling, 1:1 mentoring, Ayurveda, and more, I encourage my students to develop an understanding of their own nervous system and create nervous system elasticity.
As someone who values the importance of holding space for others, I aim to provide my students with the tools they need to explore their own healing journey at their own pace. Alongside my dedication to yoga, I also enjoy the combat sport Jiu Jitsu, and I love exploring the polarities between the two.
My classes, mostly Hatha style, range from soft to more fluid, and you can always expect to do some mantra chanting, meditation, and receive a yummy sound healing experience at the end. As a teacher, I emphasize the importance of body autonomy and aim to serve as a guide rather than an authority, allowing my students to move through their practice in a way that feels best for them. See you on the mat!
Description
Hatha yoga is a practice that aims to balance the polarities of the body and mind. In Sanskrit, "ha" means sun and "tha" means moon, and this yoga style integrates these two energies to create harmony and balance within.
In this 60-minute class, we will explore our inner world through physical postures (asana). We will begin with a meditation to set our intention, followed by practices of pranayama (breath control) and mantra (sound vibration) to activate our energy. We will then move into a warm-up sequence, leading to the peak poses, and conclude with a cool-down period and savasana, where you will receive sound healing. The class will end with a final meditation, pranayama, and mantra.
During the class, we also place emphasis on befriending the nervous system in order to cultivate mental elasticity. By learning to regulate the nervous system during our practice, we can better manage stress and cultivate a greater sense of well-being in our daily lives.People of all levels are welcomed!

Born in Italy, moved to PR when I was seven, started practicing yoga in 2001.
In 2011 did my ashtanga teacher training to deepen my yoga practice, moved to France and ended up living there for 10 years and teaching yoga.
In 2021 I moved back to the tropics because that's where my heart belongs.
Description
Ashtanga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois . This method of yoga involves synchronizing the pranayama (breath control) with a progressive series of asanas (postures) which create a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

As an Army Veteran, I discovered the transformative power of yoga in 2011 when I began practicing Ashtanga. This journey led me to explore deeper dimensions of mindfulness, culminating in my daily practice of Transcendental Meditation since 2015. In 2018, I received my 200-hour yoga teacher certification from the esteemed Sivananda Yoga School in Kerala, India, followed by advanced certifications in Ashtanga (Levels 1 and 2) and a 300-hour yoga teacher certification in 2020, also in India.
My goal as a yoga teacher is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can explore their physical and mental boundaries, fostering resilience and inner peace. Additionally, as a Vedic astrologer, I integrate the wisdom of astrology into my teachings, helping students connect with their unique energies and life paths. I am passionate about guiding others on their journey to self-discovery and holistic well-being.
Description
Two hour class combining all four paths of yoga. Based on the Sivananda Yoga lineage this class will immerse you into an authentic yoga experience. We will meditate, move our bodies, practice breath control, discuss yogic philosophy, and finally we finish the class chanting from the heart. This is truly a unique class that will leave you feeling uplifted, refreshed, and strong. All skill levels are welcome. Classes are bilingual (Spanish and English)
