Description
Yin yoga is to hold the postures for a relatively longer period of time (typically 2-5 mins.), aiming at awakening the deep connective
tissues in our body, the tendons, fascia, and ligaments. Practising yin yoga on a regular basis helps to increase circulation in the
joints and improve overall flexibility.
To practise mindfulness is to observe ourselves at the present moment in a non-judgmental, non-reactive and compassionate way.
This class incorporates mindfulness practice into yin poses. A typical class starts with some breathing exercises (pranayama), then various deep stretching poses (yin poses). It is a more meditative approach to yoga as it encourages the cultivation of awareness of our inner body.
