Kaya Sthairyam - or body stillness is a technique to prepare us for deeper meditation. When the body becomes still, so does the mind. Jane will take you through the different stages of Kaya Sthairyam to bring you to a state of stillness. Over time, the physical awareness will gradually subside as awareness of stillness increases. At this time the concentration is shifted from the body to the natural breath, so that the mind still has a focus. This practice is great for anyone who wishes to learn the discipline of meditation but maybe they need some help or guidance. It is also helpful for those who wish to develop meditation practice to be able to proceed with the practices of dharana without any obstacle.
