Description
Vision Boards, or what I also call Action Boards, are a fun, simple way to place your dreams and goals in front of you in a more tactile, concrete way. Instead of just writing your goals down, you get to envision your dreams and goals, cut and paste photos that coincide with these dreams and goals, and then keep them where you see them and will act on them.
But this isn’t just me saying this. This is science.
It’s all related to an area of science called neuroplasticity. The more you visualize and practice, the stronger your brain’s nerve pathways will connect and become comfortable with the visuals. This is important, because the brain likes familiarity. When you first begin visualizing your dreams and goals, they may feel uncomfortable and out of reach. But over time, the more you envision them, the more your brain will look for opportunities to achieve them. Athletes use visualization all the time to improve performance. And many celebrities use vision boards too, including Steve Harvey and Ellen DeGeneres.
In this vision/action board workshop, we’ll begin with some quiet visualization time. No boundaries. No judgements. No little voice telling you, “That’s stupid” or “You’ll never do that.” You’ll get as much space and time as you need to dream.
I’ll explain the different types of vision/action boards and what to do if you’re having difficulty visualizing anything (this is actually very common, as we’re so used to allowing others putting limits on us!).
We’ll provide all the supplies, but if you have any old magazines and catalogs you’d like to get rid of, please bring them along with you!
You’ll leave this day feeling refreshed, energized, and excited for the new year…and ready to make your dreams and goals a reality!
Oh, and we’ll also have some pretty yummy movie snacks, too! You are, after all, the star of your own show!
