Certifications include:
iRest Yoga Nidra, Warriors At Ease Level 2, Veterans Yoga Project, 300 hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga ~TCTSY, Restorative Yoga, Somatic Therapy, Trauma Informed Yoga for Sexual Assault, Medical Neuroscience
Description
This very special 6-week trauma-informed yoga series lead by a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist~Kenny Beaupre is designed to align the energy body (nervous system) focusing on a 5-chakra system in your physical body tied to the natural elements: Fire, Earth, Space, Air and Water. We start with an overview class on Monday, 8/14 followed by five Monday classes (no Labor day class) each focusing on one of the five elements/chakra. Class will have 10-minute mediation based on the element for that week integrating a moderate vinyasa flow designed to access body-wisdom and body memory as we slowly, softly, gently introduce Gestalt therapy to process any residual trauma needing to be release from our nervous systems. The sanctuary and practice offers space where we can process unresolved (“stuck”) emotions in order to experience more freedom in our lives. Ending with Savasana (“resting pose”), we are visually guided into a space that captures deeper meaning of what up potentially “bubbled up” during practice helping the mind (cognition) and the body (emotion) integrate as it releases what no longer serves us. Post-class sharing is offered as individual/small group processing for anyone needing more time and space to feel complete and resolved.
