Sharon Osu
My name is Sharon Osu and I have been teaching Yoga since 2011 under the Yogabellies brand. My specialisms are all things women (from puberty to post menopause and everything in between), and beginner yoga for all adults.
E14YogaCoach was set up to introduce yoga basics to brand new students who have zero experience of yoga or have been practising at home and need some help with adaptations for their particular physiology. We cover the basics of yoga terminology, postures and their Sanskrit names as well as transitions from one asana to another. The beginner and intermediate group classes (unless indicated), are suitable for all adults, not just women.
Description
Mum & Toddler Yoga
Tuesdays at 12:30pm
Dockland Settlements Centre, E14 3PS
(With a Parent & Toddler Yoga session on Saturday afternoons every other month)
Just a short 2-minute walk from Island Gardens DLR, right next to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel.
About the class
This class is for mums with older, active babies—those who are shuffling, crawling, pulling themselves up or already walking (usually from around 8/9 months up to 2 years).
It’s a natural next step after Mum & Baby Yoga, especially if you’re starting to feel ready to reconnect with your own yoga practice again. There’s space here for both—you’ll move together with your toddler at times, and at other moments you’ll have the chance to focus on yourself.
The classes are very relaxed and led by the toddlers. Some days they’ll be fully involved, copying shapes and exploring movement with you. Other days they might be more interested in snacks, toys, or a wander around the room—and that’s absolutely fine too.
We’ll gently build strength (especially through the shoulders and core), ease out common areas of tension like the back and hips, and bring some awareness back to the pelvic floor. You’ll also pick up simple, playful movements you can try together at home.
No previous yoga experience is needed. Everything is adaptable, and you’re always encouraged to go at your own pace.
What it feels like
It’s a warm, welcoming space where everyone understands that life with a toddler is a little unpredictable. You’re never expected to “get through” a full class uninterrupted.
If your little one needs a cuddle, a snack break, or some quiet time with a favourite toy or book, you can follow their lead. I’m also very happy to step in and help soothe a fractious baby if you need an extra pair of hands.
And if you’re hoping to meet other local mums, this tends to be a lovely place for that to happen naturally.
The practical bits
Classes take place in a large, bright ground floor room with plenty of space for buggies and easy step-free access. I’m usually there about 15 minutes before we begin, so there’s time to arrive, settle in and get comfortable.
There’s just one Mum & Toddler class each week, with a maximum of 10 mums, so it stays small and personal. The Saturday Parent & Toddler sessions are even smaller (just 6 families), and they tend to fill up quickly.
You can book a trial class to begin with, and then choose from a 5, 10 or 20 class pass. Booking opens one month in advance and closes an hour before class.
What to bring
Just come as you are. Wear something comfortable you can move in—layers are helpful as you’ll warm up and cool down during the session.
Bring your usual bits for your toddler (changing bag, a couple of toys or books, and some not-too-messy snacks), and a bottle of water for yourself. If you have a yoga mat, do bring it along, but there are options if you don’t.
A couple of things to note
This isn’t a childcare setting, so you’ll need to keep an eye on your little one throughout. Before your first class, you’ll be asked to complete a short health questionnaire so I can adapt things if needed. And if anything changes week to week, you’re always welcome to message me.
Finding us
The class takes place at Dockland Settlements (Calders Wharf), Saunders Ness Road, E14 3PS.
Once you’re inside, turn right, then left through a set of doors into a corridor. Go through another set of doors and you’ll find the room on the left. It sounds more complicated than it is—and there’s plenty of space once you’re in.
