About Emilie Yoga
I signed up for my first beginners Yoga class in my first week of moving to Manchester for University, in the hopes of making friends in a brand new city and to add more structure to my week. I felt extremely lost and overwhelmed at the time. With my background in dance and a free first class, I thought I'd have nothing to lose.
As the weeks rolled on, whilst I was drawn to the physicality of the practice, enjoying experimenting with brand new movement, I quickly became fascinated with the connection between the mind, body and breath. Something I'd never really gave much thought to before. As my journey continued, it was clear the practice gave me a sense of light and love I'd freely given others but rarely to myself. I have first hand witnessed how movement can help to process, heal and grow.
Fast forward 8 years, many teachers, in many studio's over the world, and here I am, still showing up on my mat. I have faithfully returned to the practice, everyday, in one form or another.
Since returning back home with a new sense of self, perspective and an understanding of the importance of community and connection, I knew I wanted to share, so I completed many hours of advanced training.
As a teacher, my intention is to remind you of the power of movement and that a regular practice can promote a kinder inner dialogue and outlook on life.
My future ahead will be spent learning and relearning, connecting and sharing.
