Description
Practicing the ancient Chinese movement practice for health and vitality bearing the seasons in mind. Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us ablut the energy of the natural world and how to balance that with the Tai Chi axis of our bodies. Qigong is an ancient practice that combines slow flowing movement, breath awareness, posture, and mindful attention to help cultivate balance, vitality, and ease in body and mind. Often described as “meditation in motion,” Qigong can help improve flexibility, release tension, calm the nervous system, support energy levels, and create a deeper sense of connection with ourselves and the natural rhythms around us. Suitable for all abilities, it invites us to move with softness rather than force, helping the body feel more open, grounded, and alive.
From 18th June onwards, our summer series begins as we explore the season of Early Summer - the bridge between the rising Yang energy of Spring and the Fire element of Summer. In nature, this is the time when spring has fully awakened: roots are strong, blossoms are opening, and the world is expanding towards the fullness of summer.
This series of practices in June will focus on fascia - the remarkable web of connective tissue that supports and links the whole body. Through twisting, spiralling, bending, stretching, and flowing dragon forms, we’ll gently encourage release, mobility, and spaciousness throughout the body. Fascia can become tight through stress, posture, and everyday habits; these practices help restore ease, flexibility, and freedom, leaving both body and mind feeling lighter and more connected.
Come and give yourself an hour to unwind, stretch, breathe, and reconnect with your body in harmony with the season. Beginners warmly welcome.
