Fidel Fontaine

In the silence that 2025 leaves behind, the first series of Ashtanga becomes a medicine that orders and realigns what is essential. Chikitsa, the therapeutic series, works like a river that polishes stone: vinyasa by vinyasa, breath by breath, the practice works through muscles, joints, and mental patterns you no longer need, leaving you with a light body and an honest gaze.

Throughout the session, we will work through the complete series with modifications for practitioners who haven't yet finished it. Free breathing will set the tempo, the bandhas will support the spine from within, and the drishti will remind you that the true work happens where your attention rests.

Before moving the body, we will open the space with Pranayama to clear the remaining internal noise and fine-tune the nervous system, so that each posture arises from a more stable place. Then, we will let the mantra do what the intellect cannot: through chanting, the vibration penetrates the skin, softens resistance, and reminds us that we do not practice to embellish anything, but to shed what is superfluous and return to the simple beauty of being present.

This is not a class to "do" more, but to offer the practice as a rite of passage: a gesture of gratitude for all that has been experienced and an intimate promise toward what is to come. You come with your body as it is, with your breath as it is, and allow the First Series, Pranayama, and Mantras to do their silent work: opening space, clearing the mind, and refining the direction of your 2026.
