Description
This is an in studio class held upstairs at:
Fire Station Creative, Carnegie Dr, Dunfermline, KY12 7AN
Please arrive 10 mins before the class starts to allow us to begin on time.
This is a Seasonal Yoga / Hatha Yoga class and is designed to cater to individuals of all skill levels, providing a well-rounded practice that combines physical postures, breathwork, and meditation. This type of yoga class focuses on aligning the body, mind, and breath, promoting balance, strength, and relaxation. Each Season brings its unique energy and challenges, and a class adapts the practice to align with the changing seasons.
The class consists of a seated or standing warm up, standing poses / flow, slower floor based work and then a closing Shavasana. Shavasana is form of relaxation at the end of a class. We take this lying down on our back on the yoga mat.
Class benefits:
1. Physical Well-being: Regular participation in a yoga class can improve flexibility, strength, and balance. The practice of asanas (physical postures) helps to tone and stretch muscles, improve posture, and enhance overall physical fitness.
2. Stress Reduction: Yoga incorporates breathwork and relaxation techniques that help calm the mind and reduce stress. By focusing on the breath and being present in the moment, students can experience a sense of inner peace and relaxation.
3. Mind-Body Connection: Yoga emphasises the connection between the body and mind. Through mindful movement and breath awareness, students can cultivate a deeper understanding of their bodies and develop a greater sense of self-awareness.
4. Increased Energy and Vitality: The practice of yoga can help improve energy levels and promote a sense of vitality. By balancing and harmonising the body's energy systems, students may experience increased vitality and a greater sense of well-being.
5. Adaptability: A Seasonal / Hatha yoga class adapts the practice to align with the changing seasons, incorporating poses and practices that support the body's needs during different times of the year. This adaptability allows participants to connect with nature and harness the energy of each season.
6. Community and Support: Joining a yoga class provides an opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded individuals. The supportive and inclusive environment encourages personal growth and fosters a sense of belonging.
Please remember to bring your own mat and props such as blocks, tiles, bricks, blanket and a strap.

Self Care Saturday is a series of Saturday classes which are connected but can be taken stand alone if you wish. You do get a decent discount for taking all four sessions though!
Last Saturdays of the month - 2pm. Please book each class using Momoyoga classes.
May 31st - 2 hrs
June 28th - 2 hrs
July 26th - 3 hrs
Aug 30th - 3 hrs
We are combining qigong, somatic yoga, and yoga nidra to offer students a balanced practice that nurtures both body and mind. Here is a breakdown of themes for each session:
Month 2 - Flow and Release - 2 hours
Focus: Letting go of tension and allowing energy to flow freely.
**Qigong**
Incorporating qigong movements that focus on releasing tension, such as:
Shake the Body
Raising the Qi
These movements help free up energy, relieve stress, and boost vitality.
**Somatic Yoga**
Using more flowing and dynamic poses such as Cat-cow stretches and a combination of seated and standing twists to help release pent-up tension in the spine and hips.
**Yoga Nidra**
Guided practice for students using a body scan to release any stored tension. Encouraging you to visualise each area of the body releasing and softening with each exhalation, helping you enter a deep state of relaxation.
Month 3 - Heart Opening and Compassion - 3 hours
Focus: Connecting with love, kindness, and openness
**Qigong**
Incorporating movements that focus on opening the heart and chest.
Opening the Heart (lifting arms overhead and slowly opening the chest)
Healing Sound Qigong (using specific sounds to release emotional blockages in the heart area).
**Somatic Yoga**
Focusing on poses that open the chest and shoulders.
Cobra
Camel Pose
Bridge Pose
Encouraging slow, mindful breathing to promote a sense of self-compassion and kindness.
**Yoga Nidra**
A heart-centered practice. Use the heart chakra (Anahata) as the focus, guiding you to visualise light and warmth radiating from your chest, filling you with love, kindness, and compassion toward yourself.
Month 4 - Restoration and Renewal - 3 hours
Focus: Restoring energy and nourishing the body and mind
**Qigong**
Including movements focused on relaxation and energy replenishment.
Gathering Qi (bringing hands together and slowly pulling them apart as if gathering energy, then gently bringing the hands to the body)
Connecting Heaven and Earth (a meditative movement with a sense of restoration).
**Wheel of life**
A little extra something from a guest.
**Somatic Yoga**
Using slow, restorative poses.
Reclining Bound Angle
Legs Up the Wall
Supported Child’s Pose
Focusing on deep breathing and encouraging relaxation in each position.
**Yoga Nidra**
This will be a full-body relaxation session. A long, nurturing practice where students visualise themselves being bathed in healing light, allowing any remaining tension or fatigue to dissolve. Focusing on deep rest and renewal.
Herbal tea and yoga social after each session.
Whether you are a beginner, returner, or improver, we invite you to join us on this journey of self-discovery, growth, and well-being.
Please bring your own mat and props such as blocks, tiles, bricks, blanket and a strap.
Please arrive 10 mins before each session starts to allow us to begin on time.
